Responsibilities
Do you want to help chart the course for NSA's innovative Cybersecurity mission? Are you ready to sniff out and hunt the adversary before they do damage to NSA's interests? If so, then Cyber Security Operations is the place for you. CSO provides Tactical (rapid) and Strategic (systemic) Analytics and Prototypes for on-net mission operations. We are the central support touchpoint for targeting, planning, and pursuit operations. On-Net Pursuit plans Intelligence and Information Driven Operations (I2DOs) and Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) supporting ONP's mission to successfully wage active Computer Network Defense (CND) operations on our most critical National Security Systems. This position offers professional growth through exposure to an evolving CND mission for the nation's highest priority customers. Our Mission Managers consist of a top-notch staff which understands the military community, has a technical understanding of networks and computer network operations (CNO), and has excellent communication and customer service skills. Generally, team members have backgrounds in mission planning, project management, intelligence analysis, computer science, and/or network analysis. You will work closely with partners across NSA, DoD, the USG, industry and allies to fully plan and integrate ONP operating capabilities to combat and defeat enemy activities in cyberspace. This position will include the following: - Lead time sensitive operations with other ONP and CSO elements. Serve as the voice of the customer for end-to-end ONP operations. - Identify process improvements, and propose new initiatives to customers, partners, and leadership. - Provide ONP customers recommendations on Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) for mission partner planning and execution activities based on customer requirements and ONP capabilities. - Orchestrate planning, execution, and support of missions in concert with other organizations, and with community partners and clients. - Determine the administrative and logistical elements required to execute a strategic, operational, or tactical plan. - Liaise with NSA clients, to include U.S. Combatant Commands, military services, and other U.S. government agencies.
Skills
The selectee will work with a variety of internal and external customers, including U.S. Combatant Commands, military services, and other U.S. government agencies. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have interpersonal, team-building, and communications skills, and be able to work both alone and as part of a team. Planning, coordination and organizational skills are a must. Project management, policy development and technical writing experience are also highly desirable. The successful candidate will be well organized, able to handle multiple assignments, and able to clearly communicate. A positive attitude, tact, and diplomacy are essential. Candidates must be proficient in typing and oral/written communications, as well as Microsoft and other computer applications. Willingness to operate in a highly technical environment is also necessary. We are looking for people with a solid understanding of network penetration techniques, tools, and methodologies that can defend a network from attack. You should have broad expertise with multiple operating systems and a strong networking background to include network security devices. Qualifications
Salary Range: $44,941 - $71,467 (Entry/Developmental) *The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position. Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position. Entry is with a high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree and no experience. Degree in Cyber Security, Information Assurance or related field is preferred, but a degree in any field is acceptable. Relevant experience must be in an area directly related to an NSA mission (e.g., collection, cyber and intelligence analysis) and/or a similar mission in the IC or DoD, and include strategic and/or operational level planning (e.g., joint operations). External engagement/collaboration experience (e.g., participation in cross-Agency working groups, JDA, field assignments, and external customer support) is preferred. Salary Range: $66,510 - $103,639 (Full Performance) *The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position. Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position. Entry is with a high school diploma or GED plus 7 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience, or a Doctoral degree and no experience. Degree in Cyber Security, Information Assurance or related field is preferred, but a degree in any field is acceptable. Relevant experience must be in an area directly related to an NSA mission (e.g., collection, cyber and intelligence analysis) and/or a similar mission in the IC or DoD, and include strategic and/or operational level planning (e.g., joint operations). External engagement/collaboration experience (e.g., participation in cross-Agency working groups, JDA, field assignments, and external customer support) is preferred.
