Job Description:

Become part of the F-35 Sustainment subcontract management team as a Subcontract Program Manager (SPM) supporting the F-35 Support Equipment IPT. The SPM will manage complexity level 1-3 development and production subcontracts.

Manages subordinate teams overseeing major subcontractors or major, critical subcontracted systems. Directs and manages all cost, schedule and technical performance requirements that are levied on the subcontractor or the product family and is required to ensure performance and support of the contract milestones of the system.

Acts as the main focal point to the subcontractor; briefs executive management and customer on the status and issues affecting performance or cost. Conducts program reviews with the subcontractor and program office.

Responsible for and directs all phases of the subcontract from initiation of the business case for make/buy decisions through requests for proposals, subcontract management plans, negotiation strategy, and cost accountability. Makes decisions affecting the performance of the subcontractor. Establishes milestone objectives and manages performance to committed schedules and contractual specifications. Leads team normally composed of engineers, quality and procurement personnel.

Travel required to manage supply chain.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in Subcontract Management, Program Management or Project Management
- Experience with Production and/or Development Programs
- Strong demonstrated negotiation skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Business acumen and ability to make business based decisions
- Self motivated, demonstrated sense of urgency, ownership of tasks and accountable
- Work independently and in a team environment; experience leading cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated Leadership qualities and ability to lead a team
- Work with all levels of management
- Working knowledge of standard contract types
- Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Detail and Teamwork oriented with demonstrated organizational skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Able to travel
- Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance.

Desired skills
- Position requires coordination of program requirements across all supplier life-cycle stages. Successful candidate will have an understanding of Earned Value Management Techniques and ability to interpret supplier financial submittals.
-Understanding of the acquisition cycle, product development lifecycle and roles/responsibilities of various program personnel.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional IPTs and/or Supplier Management Teams
- Demonstrated Risk Management experience
- Leadership skills displaying attributes of Full Spectrum Leadership
- Experience with LM P2P
- Black Belt Certified
- Thorough knowledge of acquisition policies and procedures such as LMAP with associated knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements
