**Position Title** Principle Acoustic Engineer, Abu Dhabi
United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi
AECOM is seeking a Principle Acoustic Engineer who will be based in Abu Dhabi.
The Principal Acoustic Engineer will lead multiple projects and teams and direct the design and delivery activities on a wide range of projects across the Middle East region. The successful candidate will be experienced in the delivery of all phases of a project from inception to completion, but specifically design focused and with experience across a multitude of development types including commercial office, residential, retail, hospitality, education and light industrial. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of design related to acoustics, regulatory requirements and integration with other disciplines. The Principal Engineer will lead all client facing activities, whilst ensuring quality, cost and time constraints are met. Familiarity with authority approval processes essential and working knowledge of associated MEP disciplines is highly advantageous.
+ Provide support at all stages of the design process on related projects - in particular bring specialist insight into the concept design stage to ensure the subsequent design stages are developed with a winning strategy and appropriate level of innovation with the latest industry knowledge.
+ Collaborate with relevant Building Engineering counterparts throughout the EMIA region on best practices.
+ Act as the Technical advisor to the team on all issues related to the acoustic business within Mechanical Engineering.
+ Implement the Company's strategy relating to customers with regard to gaining repeat business.
+ Be aware of marketing opportunities and the capability of the business as a whole.
+ Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing design services.
+ Provide technical acoustic engineering design, advice, review and approval.
+ Carry out general engineering duties to ensure quality assurance requirements are achieved.
+ Contribute to and lead proposals including technical, schedule and cost components.
+ Interface with clients and contractors to develop solutions and resolve technical issues.
+ Mentor and develop junior staff.
+ Provide advice in regards to the constructability, cost and schedule requirements for all queries related to acoustic engineering.
+ Have an opportunity to develop and use your senior management skills.
+ Lead by example, attend training, and ensure resources are available. Engage with clients on safety - set client safety objectives on projects.
+ Ensure all projects have risk assessments and safety plans in place.
+ Ensure all communications are published and understood. Start all meetings with a safety moment and visibly lead by example.
+ A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/ Architecture
+ Engineering accreditation (CEng or equivalent) would be advantageous
+ Experience in a noise modelling package (SoundPLAN or Cadna/A) and GIS would be a significant advantage.
+ Good communication skills, and able to work well independently at times.
+ Able to see the "bigger picture" and take a birds-eye view on projects
+ Must be able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.
+ Confident, with the ability to work either independently or as part of a team.
+ Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
+ Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
