**Position Title** Risk Manager

Zambia - Lusaka


**Job Summary**

Due to our strong pipeline of projects within the transportation field we may have an opening for an experienced Risk Manager.

As the Risk Manager you would safeguard the project, its client, reputation, assets and the interests of stakeholders by identifying and managing all threats to the achievement of its project objectives- often involving risk financing including insurance purchase.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Risk Manager will be responsible for:

+ Undertake monthly visits to visit the project team and address crucial project issues

+ Analyse and respond to project risk, issues and opportunities in order to maximise the results of positive events, and minimise the consequences of adverse events

+ Regularly report on key risk and mitigation measures to different audiences

+ Develop, review and implement risk management plan addressing specific needs of the project

+ Facilitate risk management workshops in order to identify risks, conduct qualitative assessments, determine top project risks, mitigation measures and risk owners

+ Conduct Monti Carlo analysis on high risk items

+ Regularly monitor, manage and update project risk registers throughout the project life cycle

+ Risk evaluation

+ Conduct audits of policy and compliance to standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors

+ Providing support, education and training project team to build risk awareness within the project

+ Escalate issues where necessary

+ Promote, find opportunities for and to maintain teamwork

+ Maintain quality of work (statutory requirements, corporate standards)

+ Obtain all publications and policy statements related to the government's health and safety regulations, policies and procedures ensure that the Contractor draws up a site health management plan and keeps all staff fully informed on procedures

+ Ensures compliance and adoption of practices supporting AECOM OH&S policy

Specific Skills required:

+ Previous experience in a similar role

+ Personal organisation and planning skills

+ Negotiating and influencing skills

+ Excellent communications and presentation skills

+ Persistence, an eye for detail and ability to complete projects and keep to deadlines (in respect of risk reporting)

+ Ability to understand and learn risk management software

Person Specification (Personality Attributes)

+ Ability to lead a team

+ Team player, committed, dead line orientated

+ Ability to work under pressure

+ Willing to share knowledge, experience, ideas and expertise for the betterment of group and self

**Minimum Requirements**

+ 10 - 15 years related experience

+ Demonstrated commercial acumen in the engineering and construction environment

Preference will be given to nationals from sub-Saharan countries

Preference will be given to individual who have relevant experience working in sub-Saharan Africa

Incumbent should be willing to move in-country

Should have experience in airports, ports, roads or railway

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Post graduate Degree / Diploma in Engineering

+ Formal training in Risk Management

+ Professional qualification from the Institute of Risk Management will be ideal
