SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Do you enjoy solving challenging software problems? Want to contribute to the success of the nation's vital space systems? Aerospace is looking for software engineers interested in applying emerging software technologies to space-related systems. Aerospace's Software Systems Engineering Department (SSED) team is a leader in applying new software approaches, design, architectures, and development and is looking for your contributions. We welcome software engineers with 5 to 10 years of experience who want to work with modeling tools, various software engineering methods, various programming languages, and cyber security.
Providing software systems engineering skills and technical support to space and ground systems. Applying skills and adaptability in various areas that may include resolution of issues in software and computer systems-related technologies. Support may include, but is not limited to software engineering (e.g., prototype development and enhancement), working with various phases of software development (e.g., evaluation of requirements, development, design, processes, analysis), and other related areas. Working with computer systems; software engineering and modeling tools; multiple languages (e.g., java, C++); and operating systems (Windows, Linux)- Supporting technology recommendations, risk assessments, trade studies, and analyses Providing expertise at technical interchange meetings with Aerospace, customer, and contractor personnel. Learning new skills and mentoring others
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale.
Proficient in one or more of the following: C/C++, C#, Java, Python. Must be able to quickly learn new programming languages A strong technical background and clearly demonstrated experience with current technologies Excellent oral and written communication skills This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. Must be highly motivated. Must be able to work well collaboratively or independently, as each task requires. Must be able to adapt to a customer's evolving needs. Exhibit high level of innovation, creativeness, and initiative Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers
Advanced degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution Five or more years of experience (Consideration for experience will be given to those with an advanced degree) Experience with cloud technologies and architectures, specifically clearly demonstrated experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Experience with working in virtualized environments Current TS/SSBI clearance Experience with research and development.
