SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Systems Performance & Algorithms Undergraduate Intern for an internship opportunity. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA.
The qualified candidate will become part of the Systems Performace, Estimation and Algorithms Department assisting modeling and simulation efforts using a large scale space and airborne based sensors and systems simulation program. Candidate will have the opportunity to learn optimizing multi-dimensional system level trades along with assisting / coding in C++ or Java / Python in support of analysis tasking.
Algorithm assessment and development Predictive error vs actual errors assessment from large scale simulation outputs Feature identification and extraction from noisy, unstable image datasets Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners. Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks. Training and mentorship will be provided.

Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or related program Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) Minimum GPA 3.0 Must be able to obtain a security clearance US Citizenship required Knowledge and/or experience with programming in C, C++, JAVA/Python, or Matlab
GPA 3.5 or higher Active security clearance Experience in developing and delivering presentations, leading small groups, etc. Experience in working in an autonomous work environment on complex projects Software design, development, unit testing and integration experience Practice robust statistics and decision logics Rudimentary knowledge of Image Processing
