ARServices is seeking a full time Front Desk Receptionist/Clerk to join its team to support the Department of Energy's Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB). The Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB) is an independent organization within the executive branch chartered with the responsibility of providing recommendations and advice to the President and the Secretary of Energy regarding public health and safety issues at Department of Energy (Department) defense nuclear facilities. The position is located in Washington DC.
The Front Desk Receptionist/Clerk shall provide no less than eight (8) hour coverage of the Board's main reception desk each business day, excluding Federal holidays. Coverage shall start at 7:30am and run continuously until 4:30pm. The position is considered essential in supporting the agency and must be manned during operational hours.
The Front Desk Receptionist/Clerk shall:
Receive and place calls for the staff, direct incoming phone calls to the proper staff member, answer routine inquiries related to non-technical information, such as the place and time of meetings, location and directions to the facility, etc. Perform a variety of support functions in accordance with standard procedures and under specific instructions Demonstrate tact and diplomacy in meeting and dealing with various levels of the Board's staff, representatives of other government agencies, corporations, and the public Operates office equipment and maintain office supplies Selects and compiles information from several sources in order to prepare reports Gathers, compiles, and verifies information and performs data entry Control the visitor logbook to ensure that all visitors sign-in/out Provide desk and telephone coverage of the Board member reception area on the eighth floor when requested Receive express mail deliveries and request vendor pickups or express mail leaving the building Assist in mailings, mass photocopying requests, addressing envelopes, filing, binding, etc. Assist in routine clerical projects on an ad hoc basis when requested Serve as the organizational coordinator for conference room reservations, which requires the electronic scheduling of rooms for conferences or meetings Serves as the assistant with the operation and maintenance of the library space Type a variety of documents such as letters, memoranda, reports, and forms Proofread correspondence, reports, memoranda, and forms to ensure the final document contains the correct punctuation, spelling, and grammar May examine and evaluate inquiries Serve as the backup mailroom clerk Serve as a floater to assigned group administrative personnel as required Performs other duties as required or assigned Position Qualifications:
