Job Description:

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer for Virginia and southern West Virginia, is seeking to fill Temporary Summer positions at our Salem, Virginia corporate headquarters. These summer positions are responsible for assisting in an office-based, administrative role during the months of May through early August, 2019. Duties may include data entry, filing, scanning, copying, answering phones and other general office functions. Openings are available in our Human Resources, Information Systems and Procurement departments. Prefer candidates with backgrounds in, or current education path, in these fields of study.

Self-starter, able to work with limited supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once. Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook preferred. Strong customer satisfaction skills; able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Must meet physical requirements for the job, including the ability sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Able to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 20 pounds in weight.
