To help achieve this strategic expansion, we are in a search for a Manager, Paid Search (SEM).

Role Description
The Manager, Paid Search for Kaplan Higher and Professional Education (KHPE) is a highly visible role within the marketing organization, responsible for optimizing a multi-million dollar paid search advertising budget. This role requires close cross-collaboration across multiple business units, as well as cross functionally in the areas of Marketing, Admissions, Advanced Analytics, Operations and Finance. This role further is responsible for managing day to day operations with our external Search Marketing agency of record, Merkle.
The Right Candidate
The right candidate is a proven search marketing expert, and has previously led the development of both short term and long term search optimization plans across product lines. Given the range of stakeholders this role would interface with, having a strong business acumen, combined with strong communication skills and ability to prioritize are essential.

Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as internal SME on all things paid search, and drive the organization to capitalize on paid search to the fullest extent possible
Day to day operational management of all SEM activities, inclusive of monitoring performance, and developing action plans to capitalize on opportunities, or address issues
Primary point of contact to our external SEM agency, and direct their priorities and actions on a weekly basis
Monthly forecasting and quarterly planning, using strong analytical rigor
Development of ongoing, prioritized Testing Roadmap within SEM, using latest betas available

Desired Education & Experience:
5+ years managing large scale, growing SEM campaigns ($ 1M+ monthly spend)
Proven growth through following standard test and learn processes
Experience with bid management software, and how they work
Prior experience in direct response environments, and ecommerce preferred
Audience management experience across phases of a customer lifecycle preferred
A high degree of analytical thinking, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data to identify, prioritize and pursue opportunities comes naturally
Strong analytical, business acumen, and forecasting/budgeting background
Ability to ‘cut through the clutter’ – ability to identify which data is relevant to drive decision making, and use that data to succinctly make a persuasive argument
Comfortable working in a high performance environment, with ability to embrace and thrive in change
BA in Business/Marketing/Finance or related degree, advanced degree preferred
