Responsibilities
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Ground and Computer Undergraduate Intern for an internship opportunity. This position will be located in Chantilly, VA.

The qualified candidate will become part of the Ground and Computing Technologies Department (GCTD). The position involves working with the engineering staff in support of current and emerging computing technologies (e.g. Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, Machine Learning) to help solve challenging problems in the space-ground domain. This position offers the opportunity to work with both software and hardware in a hands-on laboratory environment. Previous projects include working with drones, augmented reality, satellite command and control systems, cloud computing, and other cutting-edge technologies!

KEY FUNCTIONS
Assist in the application of current and emerging computing technologies (e.g. Cloud Computing, Big Data) to current GCTD/Lab efforts. Work and collaborate within small project teams of computer science interns and technical staff. Bring passion and a curiosity for technology everyday! Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners. Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks. Training and mentorship will be provided.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineerining, Electrical Engineering or related program Completion of one or more years of an undergraduate curriculum in computer science, computer engineering or electrical engineering. Applicable programming skills in one or more languages (e.g. Java, C/C++, Python or others) REQUIRED. Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) Minimum GPA 3.0 Must be able to obtain a security clearance US Citizenship required Demonstrated ability to make individual and team contributions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
GPA 3.5 or higher Active security clearance
