SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Exploitation, Phenomenology and Analysis Department performs work at the intersection of hardware system performance, in-scene physical phenomenology, and software-enabled data exploitation - relying on our multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists. Our department ensures that the delivered capabilities of civil, commercial, and government electro-optical remote sensing programs meet operational needs. We are looking for Imagery, Video and 3D Software Engineers (level 1B and level 1C) to analyze these systems and to deliver data exploitation
Design and/or implement proof of concept software for data exploitation and visualization Research approaches to exploit features and signatures within remotely sensed data Collect test data using field and lab equipment (e.g., LiDAR, small UAV multi-rotor coptors, multi-spectral sensors, high resolution cameras, Infrared cameras, high speed cameras) Apply the scientific method to assess accuracy, performance, and utility of proposed algorithms (e.g., numerical errors, accuracy, and precision) Supply domain knowledge to inform system performance analysis and requirements development Potential for broad range of problems and need to have willingness to learn and tackle new problems Interface frequently with Aerospace customer-site representatives and Government personnel to define, execute, and status projects Distill and communicate the accurate meaning of analytic results Work in a cross-functional team and as an independent contributor to enable mission success
Bachelor's degree in applied mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics or appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of a 4.0 scale
For the Imagery, Video and 3D Software Engineer (level 1B):
A minimum of 2 years of experience (post bachelor's degree) Experience developing algorithms to solve scientific/engineering/mathematic problems Demonstrated strong professional and technical communication skills (e.g., technical documentation, status reports, algorithm description documents, presentation charts) This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
For the Imagery, Video and 3D Software Engineer (level 1C):
A minimum of 5 years of experience (post bachelor's degree) Experience developing algorithms to solve scientific/engineering/mathematic problems Experience with software development and/or prototyping Demonstrated strong professional and technical communication skills (e.g., technical documentation, status reports, algorithm description documents, presentation charts) This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
Experience with signal and image processing of electro-optical remote sensing imagery, video, and data Experience with Python and particularly scientific packages such as numpy, scipy, scikit-* Experience with C++ (possibly C++11, C++14, or boost) Coursework in numerical methods for computer applications Comfortable reading technical specifications or standards for algorithms and data formats Advanced degree in applied mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics or appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution Broad range of computer skills/experience including LINUX development Current or active TS/SSBI
