Reporting to the HPE’s Senior Vice President of Strategy and Ventures, the Vice President Corporate Strategy will be primarily focused on enhancing the overall strategy for HPE’s Hybrid IT portfolio. The Vice President will build and lead a world class team working closely with HPE’s Hybrid IT leadership team to develop strategic recommendations for improving and evolving an interrelated group of multibillion dollar global businesses. The Vice President will work across company leadership to gain buy-in and drive implementation of strategic recommendations, while serving as a trusted advisor to the executive team. The team led by this Vice President will focus on issues ranging from organic growth, M&A, go-to-market, cost reduction and operational efficiency. The Vice President will manage a portfolio of engagements ranging from longer-term opportunities and threats, to tactical projects that support immediate business objectives and priorities.

In addition, the Vice President:
Provides strategic advice to senior executive management regarding overall targeted growth and operational efficiency.Develops financially sound, executable, data-driven business strategies that increase shareholder value.Provides innovative thought leadership and shapes the knowledge base within the team’s area of expertise.Provides ongoing strategic guidance to plan and manage growth of Hybrid IT revenue and market share.Drives operational efficiency initiatives that improve profitability.Supports HPE management team and Hybrid IT leadership decision making with rigorous financial analysis and modelling.Designs and develops business models and market strategies that increase organizational effectiveness.Facilitates senior level discussions around organic and inorganic growth options, and plays an active role in guiding difficult transactions to a successful close.Demonstrates thought leadership by coaching and advising SVP and EVP-level executives as appropriate.Provides business rationale and risk assessment for proposed investments.Creates a performance-driven culture that positions the Corporate Strategy team as a trusted partner across HPE.Provides strong leadership, mentors and coaches junior team members.
Qualifications / Candidate Profile
Undergraduate degree requiredEngineering experience and top 10 MBA preferredExtensive experience at a top 3 strategy consulting firm required12 years of results-oriented strategy executive experience, with an ability to articulate a global vision for the organization10 years of experience managing, motivating and retaining a high-performance teamDemonstrated ability to build relationships at the C-level, and manage complex cross-functional initiatives with minimal directionExperience working with enterprise technology organizations, either as a strategic advisor or as an internal strategy executiveOperational background and demonstrated success in leading complex projects and programs across multiple business models and global business unitsProven track record of translating high level strategy into actionable operational plansPassion for catalyzing and driving change, and the skills to develop and drive strategic initiatives across all facets of HPE’s enterprise businessesAbility to articulate & convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner
