NSA Overview The professionals at the National Security Agency (NSA) have one common goal: to protect our nation. The mission requires a strong offense and a steadfast defense. The offense collects, processes and disseminates intelligence information derived from foreign signals for intelligence and counterintelligence purposes. The defense prevents adversaries from gaining access to sensitive classified national security information. Description of Position Seeking an entry level Protocol Officer to represent the National Security Agency on matters of social etiquette and business protocol, and provide support and counsel throughout the Agency to initiate, arrange, and conduct visits, ceremonies, and special events. Duties Include: - Plan, schedule, and arrange high-profile visits by domestic, foreign, and private visits. - Plan, schedule, and execute military and civilian award ceremonies. - Perform occasional travel to off-site locations to support organizational mission programs. - Work occasional after-hour evening events.
The ideal candidate should have: - Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in Protocol and/or event management. - Associate's Degree with 1 year experience. - Experience in customer service positions. - Computer/clerical/organizational experience. - Experience organizing social events and time management experience. - Experience working with senior executives and managers. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Experience with Intranet, Internet, Windows NT, NT Explorer, Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, and Excel). - Basic budget and finance experience.
Salary Range: $56,233 - $73,105 (Full Performance) *The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position. Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position Entry is with a high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of relevant experience or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience. Degree in a Business-related field is preferred, but a degree in any field is acceptable. Relevant experience must include providing customer service and coordinating or organizing meetings or other events (e.g., award or promotion ceremonies). Experience providing protocol support to state, local or Federal government officials is preferred.
