Our company is looking for a Engineering Manager in Herndon, VA or Charleston, WV.

Description:
• Provide technical and administrative direction for personnel performing software development tasks, including the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards, and for progress in accordance with schedules. Coordinate with the Project and/or Program Manager to ensure problem solution and user satisfaction. Make recommendations, if needed, for approval of major systems installations. Prepare milestone status reports and deliveries/presentations on the system concept to colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives. Provide daily supervision and direction to support staff.
• Oversee the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to package and install end user software for automated installation.
• Manage development of scripts for executing SCCM automation.
• Research, analyze, diagnose and resolve issues with customer systems including computer hardware & software, peripheral equipment, and networks using documented processes where available and best practices where not.
• Ensure computer imaging including software & hardware validation and pre-delivery testing.
• Provide support for Remote Access (RA) Services, including provision, configuration, management, and operation of (a) secure RA solution(s) (such as mobile and/or IP/VPN) to enable users from a remote location to connect to resources in the organization.
• Ensure timely patching and firmware upgrades, break/fix support, and daily operations and management support, including onsite assistance for special events.
• Engineer solutions to address field issues with help desk, field service support, and network operations center.
• Documentation and reporting of all associated maintenance activities.
• Develop and provide training to end users on the various systems in use when not supporting meetings.
• Provide thought leadership, technical strategy, architecture, and design support around emerging technologies.
• Advocate for any client-approved technology modifications to the end user infrastructure that maintains architecture compliance with the client's Enterprise Architecture (EA) and standard platform requirements.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years leading end-user IT support teams.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with implementing the use of Microsoft's System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
• Experience with computer imaging processes and procedures.
• Ability to independently resolve widely varying complex problems using current job knowledge and using research and external resources.
• Hardware, Operating Systems, and networking experience. Hardware experience to include Intel based desktops, laptops, and printers. Operating System (OS) experience to include Windows and Mac OS. Networking experience to include strong understanding of TCP/IP and DNS. Understanding of Active Directory and Exchange.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems for users' computing and peripheral equipment.
• Ability to independently resolve widely varying complex problems using current job knowledge and using research and external resources.
• Highly motivated and have strong customer focus with the ability to interface with all levels of staff.
• Able to support and work the necessary hours to finish critical work. Must be willing to occasionally travel to client locations, as needed.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Highly motivated and have strong customer focus with the ability to interface with all levels of staff

• Candidate selected MUST successfully complete a government public trust background investigation and must meet the requirements to access to sensitive information and systems.
